Difference in cards is the amount of ports bro...Ya want the 3 port one....Via 6421a...and use the internal port!!!! Hitachi's will work with most onboard sata...Just ensure you use/configure the right port!!!! Phillips/Samsung MS 25 &MS 28 require the via card you mentioned....It is compatible with these drives,iprep 101,Samsung iXtreme v1.4 Firmware & mtkflash. My Via 6421a only has 2 SATA ports, I think the 6421a and 6421L are just different revisions of this chipset. I bought a Via 6421a SATA card from eBay for £7. With it i have flashed a Hitachi 79 (or whatever it is) using the bad flash method, a Benq and a samsung. They all worked fine. It has 3 sata ports and 1 ide port. I'm just waiting for the something to happen with the Lite-on drives _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.
