You know generally the saying is out with the old in with the new but I constantly find myself putting original xbox games in my 360. I just wish they could or would implement achievements for older games. But the guy who is in charge of that at Microsoft has said it will never happen. I think if they are going to have the balls to sell a original xbox game download for 15 dollars they would give you some reason not to go out and buy the same game with the case,manual and disc for 5 dollars. But like I said I always find myself popping in one of my original xbox games in my 360 and playing through it again. I guess it is like meeting a old friend and remembering the good old days. _________________________________________________________

I agree with you completely. Except that I think they dropped the ball with the original xbox games on 360. Don't get me wrong. I do appreciate the hard work of making it so we have over 300 original xbox to play on the 360.
The thing is for me, the games looked better on the original xbox than on the 360. They do overall play better and are usually faster but for some reason they look netter when I use the original xbox in most cases with the 49 games I have that work on the 360. It is enough that I rather not play most on the 360.
For achievements, I think it would cost far to much to implement achievements into original xbox games. If you do one, you have to do them all, since Microsoft always tries to be through.
Unlike what has been claimed, it is not easy to develop satisfying, functional achievements in games that were released with no intent to have them. It would have to be done differently than how it is with the 360 games like through xbox live. They can't afford it and we can't afford them to release the games again with achievements, I think. It is just not as simple as everyone thinks.
I would love to have achievements in the original games. I'd even play them on the 360 because of the achievements. That brings up anther thought. Do they really want you deeply involved with old games that they are no longer are making money on. Nope, that would cut in to 360 game time and possibly hurt sales of fresh new games.
In the beginning, with the 360 new, having xbox games playable on the 360 was a big selling point. It took them too long to have enough good games working and disappointed many. By now, mostly everyone who has original xbox games has had the 360 for some time so there is not much more 360 console sales to be made by the fact that it supports original xbox games anymore.
I am just pointing out some possible underlying reasons Microsoft refuses to have achievements on original xbox games based on my opinions and observations over the last 3 years. The only old xbox game i still play is halo 2. The online of that game is awesome, and i still love to play hardcore. Other than that i don't play many old xbox games, although i do play morrowind every once in a while. _________________________________________________________

I wish there was a 360 version of Morrowind... now that would be nice. Yeah I miss that game.
