Hey guys, some of you may have heard about the XNA community created games thing MS is doing, where we can create our own games and share them on XBL to be played and tested by our fellow gamers, you can down load and play these games for free, you can download all the software to create games for free, but to actualy be able to use your created games on xbl you will need to subscribe to the service and have a membership which ranges from $50 to $100 U.S.
I found this out after spending about 2 hours downloading all the software and updating my Operating system with multiple updates as requested by the XNA software. when I got to the part where I go to get my xbox connected to my PC through XNA connect it informs me I need to subscribe for a membership which is pretty expensive, considering community games on the xbox actualy bennifits those that play activly, and MS financialy in the long run, but the builder gets nothing but a " hey I made that" bragging right after all the hard work and programing, and he gets to pay for the privilage. I wish I knew there was a cost involved before I downloaded all the crap. MS is worse than the Tax Man. Its not like Bill gates is hurting to get that mortgage payment in on time. I bet he charges his own family when they come over for thanksgiving dinner.
Just a heads up to those that were thinking of doing the Make your own game thing and did not know there was a cost involved.
But you could still download all the programs just to make the games for fun, but could not upload them to MS over your XBOX.
I figured that out too when i did that a few weeks ago. I said forget it. I needed VB anyways though so it worked out fine, and I can still code games for my computer which is good. _________________________________________________________
Yeah when the wolf invites you over for dinner at no charge you should probably be a little suspicious. Anyhow did you get your sound fixed gameover? You said your mike wasnt working and the sound was not coming through your speakers on your tv eithier. Is that the gameplay sounds or just the xbox live's peoples voices? _________________________________________________________

Ya man, When I was playing with you yesterday it was acting a little weird at the start, everyone else sounded like their mic was going out, then nothing at all. I could see the icons blinking when you guys were talking but I was getting nothing. But all game sounds were there. I tried a second mic and same thing. Even without a mic installed there was no voice over the tv ither. I called MS about it and they said to try taking HDD off, unpluging everything and all that. Ill try that out.
