I just got a used 360 and got it running (replaced RF Board) it boots to the dashboard fine. I put in an original Halo 3 DVD and it started to load the update. About 1/2 through the update my Xbox restarted. It still boots up to the dash, but it acts like there is no game in the drive. Anyone know what may be wrong?

Almost sounds like the DVD reader has a bad flash from a fubar'd mod attempt. Is the drive spinning up? Door closes, then opens? What's it doing to indicate that there is no game? _________________________________________________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

It will spin up for a few seconds about 3 times when you put the DVD in, then it stops. When I boot the xbox with the DVD in, it will stay at the white and green xbox splash screen a few seconds longer then it should, then goes into the dashboard. In the dashboard, the only option for the DVD drive is to "open tray" The DVD drive does open and close like it should. Since it was used, it could likely be a failed mod.

Grab a dvd-r movie and try watching it.
It could just be a fault dvdrom drive which you could replace and match the keys from the original so you can play online etc. _________________________________________________________ HQ Network:

Could also be a pot/drive laser problem. I had to replace the laser and turn the pot up on mine to get it to start working again. _________________________________________________________

I tried a movie, but it didn't play, is it most likely a drive or laser issue then?
