So I'm thinking about buying a 360 BUTTTT I've heard so much about this RRoD and other problems I'm starting to become cautious. I loved the xbox original and am looking forward to Halo 3 and Gears Of War. Is the media just doin what it does best and over exaggerating things or should i be concerned. Being Im only 16 now id hate to spend all my money to end end with nothing to show.

yeah the 3rod is mostly fixed, if you get a newer console (i believe august 28 2007 and later mfg date it will have the 65nm cpu) meaning less heat produced so less chance of 3rod. the 3rod has a 3 year warranty so if you get it within three years microsoft will replace it for free. mine is a sept 2006 mfg date, haven't had a problem just leave it in an open space for adequete cooling and you should be good. I have the pelican fan stand and that seems to do the trick. if you do decide to get a cooling product (not necessary if you leave it in an open space) don't get the intercooler too many problems with it.

I been using my nyko inter cooler for about a straight whole year without any problems, other than the loud ass noise.

Ive had a console since the inital USA release in November 2005 which is over 2 years and i only just got the 3 RROD error which i fixed myself with the x-clamp-fix. lol..

xbox 360 is the best money ive spent in quite sometime.
