is it worth buying someones box if they have the 3 rings problem if its going for cheap enough? i have a friend that has this problem and im debating on whether i should ask to buy it from him or not. all the warranty stickers are still on it.

does it matter how old the system is? the manufacture date is older than a year. its like a year and a half.

150 bucks, it come with the hdd, cables, powersupply. If not thats pretty steep.

another red ring question:
the 360 that i sold to my friend, my original 360, that i got on the release day showed its first sign of death this weekend...or maybe not. we played gears of war for about an hour or so system link, and i was playing with a friend on that box, while my other two friends were playing on mine in another room. well i have a habit of putting my hand every so often over the back of the 360 where the fan blows and just feeling how hot the air is coming out of there. i dont know why i do it, i just do. so i put my hand back there and as soon as i did, the xbox shut down and the 3 red rings came up. so i was like shit, but i rebooted the machine and it booted up fine and we kept playing after that for a while and it didnt happen again. i played on it for a good while the next day also to just test it and it didnt do it. this system has a talismoon fan on it and the air always seems so much cooler, and when the 3 red rings flashed up, the air coming out of there wasnt all that hot. im wondering if it could have flashed up like that because i briefly covered up that breathing space with my hand trying to get a feel on the temp. but the rings never came back...any thoughts.
oh and also, say this system dies, what are the chances of getting microsoft to repair it? the warranty sticker is gone, but i took it off after it was out of warranty, THEN they extended the warranty, or else i would have left it on. so if it dies here pretty soon, do you think they would repair it under the extended warranty program?
my guess is they WILL repair it but because the sticker is gone the will most likely make you pay
