so how the forum today? well im in a pinch of sorts need some reconmondations of a drive to purchase so i can get the advantage of having a dvd/rw dl as replacement for my crispy oem drive. the only drives i can find are just a few and they are factory replacements and thats not gonna happen. ms made that mistake, im not. and beside they want big bucks for over rated junk. i have googled the hell out of this and what i have found out so far is how to extract my info off from my drive, key, firmware, etc... and have found out how to put it back into the new drive and then your back gaming again. i have also read in a tut that you can spoof a drive so as long as i can get a compatible drive with either the hitachi/or samsung. and at most of the sites for dvd drives they start at 182-183 for the samsung and good luck finding hitachi's can find lg's like it aint no thing. any input to sway me in my decision making would be greatly appreciated. already know ill be making a few mistakes just dont want to make the mistake with getting a wrong drive. thanx.

Kinda confussed on what it is your after. Are you looking for a replacement drive for your 360, or a replacement dvd burner? If your after replacement drive for the 360, you can go with any drive you want, you will have to spoof it, but thats rather easy.
You can find them on ebay rather easily. Is this a problem with where you live? I just picked up an hitachi for 51 bucks off ebay. Shipped.
If your in need of a dvd burner, pioneers are cheap, and quite a few people use them. I have a 111d, and the 110, and 112's work as well. I picked my drive up on sale for 30 bucks.

Xbmc is for the original xbox. Theres no homebrew for the 360 yet. Yea replacement drives you can find them on ebay for cheap. Around 50-60 bucks shipped, then you just follow the tutorial on spoofing firmware in the tutorial section.
