Ok, so its been a while since i've been about but thats because i've been in Aus for the last 3 1/2 weeks and then caught some nasty cold which knocked me on my arse for a good few days. :S
So i'm just wondering what you lot think of Gears of War now thats its finally released?
Personally I think its a good game but nothing to write home about, if anything Prey was far more ground breaking than GOW. Really tho nothing really stands out for me to make this game above average, thats why I only gave it a 7 rating at HQ.
Please prove me wrong, let me know what you lot think! Did I miss something? _________________________________________________________ JAy3k1

Personally i found the game more of a movie like gameplay..
Rarely a cut scene which was good and also co-op on live was excellent..
I rated the title highly due to the vast amount of kick ass graphics and hard work which had obviously gone into the game.
Im still playing GOW and im pretty fussy with games.. If i didnt like it i would say so straight away..
anyway, just my 2 cents.
hope your feeling better soon jay and had a good holiday.

The game is pretty good in parts and the online coop is fun to play and i'd agree with you that the GFX are very good hobbs. But here is the thing, I never really watched this game develop so really did not know what to expect apart from a kick arse FPS.
Thats why with all the hype of it that it surprised me that there was not some really funky stuff in the game, you know like never before seen.. IE Preys' running around rooms and rotating rooms. I think if I had played this before Prey I would have rated it higher.
I do like this game and will for sure be playing it to death tho.
Thanks hobbs, getting over it slowly, feels like i'm chewing on razor blades at the mo tho. The holiday was 100% madness m8, the perfect lads holiday to Aus. Gotta love Sydneys 24hr club scene. _________________________________________________________ JAy3k1

The chainsaw... hahah that alone sells it for me. Now I want a chinsaw on any weapon I pick up in any game. Graphics are a plus also...

That was my second time to Aus and it turned out even more fun this time.
Well we started in Perth, lovely beaches even better women and a damn smart club called One Twenty. I would go back to Perth for sure as its really a lovely place to visit. Ohhh, went for some free wine tasting on a cruise ship down the o'l Swany, mate fell asleep and we let the sun burn half his head and face.
Oh and there is a wicked bar/brewery there on Fitzroy island, its a working brewery that you sit in and can see everything thats made. And yes of course we had to try all the beers.
Then we shot over to Cairns for some diving, snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef. Now that was pretty damn amazing, we where staying at a place called Trinity Beach so pretty central.
We ended up doing just about everything there, Bungy jump, Scuba, Snorkelling, Quad biking through the bush, Rain Forest walks ( which freak you out when things drop on your head btw ), went to Green Island and errm Frazer Island? I think thats the name of the place.
The clubs in Cairns are really damn good, never seen anything like it really. I'd go again tomorrow if I could. Mind you we nearly got chucked out our accommodation the first night. (Yayger Bombs anyone?)
Then off to Sydney for some Mmmmm, bit of a blurr this bit. We hit Circular Quay the first night, minus 5 club was the first stop to meet some lovely lovely ladys. That was quite a controlled night, but the second one in the cross.. well... twisted.
We hit just about every bar/club in the cross and ended up in a club that had some of the Aussie rugby team in from the Tri-Nations final which we saw earlier that day. The name of the place ended in '..Suite'. We did not fall errrm, walk out of there till 6:30 in the morning and then rolled into a banging underground nightclub for a bit.
Then at 11:30 we had the Bridge climb to do, how we managed that i'll never know. The next and last day in Sydney was some bars in Darling Harbour, the Jet Boat and relaxation followed by Kylies Showgirl tour... Just don't ask about that last bit, mate booked it up the twisted little munter.
For the life of me I could not get my mates to fall out of a plane at 14,000 feet with me. They would do a bungy but not a skydive. Bloody girls, a Bungy is far far more scary than a skydive.
So yeah, good times.
Ohh and keeping on topic, don't even bother trying to play Gears of War Co-op split screen..! Waste of time as you just cannot see sod all and die over and over! _________________________________________________________ JAy3k1
