I want a Xbox360... But im not sure if I can use my Maxtor Shared Storage 300gb disk with it. I dont want to connect the 360 to my XP but directly to the Maxtor drive, and view my movies and play my audio. Is this possible or is it only possible if I use my XP machine. ?

Video is only playable over a network via Windows Media Center, so if you don't have this you won't be able to even play videos on the 360, however audio and pictures should work fine. As long as it's a USB device, there may be some issues with it being formatted as ntfs though, not real sure. _________________________________________________________

Its nice to use a large hdd if you have a huge music collection. The drive however must be formatted as Fat32. Also becuase its a large drive Id suggest usind a program called swissknife. Heres a link: http://www.compuapps.com/download/Swissknife/swissknife.htm

well I do not want to access it through USB I want to access it through my network...
