Not so much the console but if the next gen consoles use 256 bit cards is that all we'd need in a pc? If so I'm just going to buy a 7850 _________________________________________________________ The internet, a place where people expect you to know what they know.

Your logic is way off base. Nvidia is still firmly in bed with 128 and is a major funder of PC games. Thats why you always see that Nvidia crap at beginning of games. And Nvidia isnt gonna give EA free cards etc for dev and testing if it excludes the majority of their product. Now if AMD was in bed with most PC game companies you may have reason to worry since nowdays AMD does more 256 than not.
Always remember too console games are scaled back. Every game I have on PC that I had on 360 is worlds apart graphicaly. So if on XBOX-One say it uses a 7650-esque card you could easily run that game on a PC using a number of midrange cards like a 5750, 6750, 5770 etc, and many highend cards can be had for $2-300. Theres no need for a $600 card or anything. Id bet my current card could run the XBOX-One games for PC no issue and its almost 3 years old.

I was mainly trying to ask if next gen games would run easily on a 7850. _________________________________________________________ The internet, a place where people expect you to know what they know.

That's pretty much true. I have sli cards and the xbox one could never match it but that's $800 for graphic cards and $3000 for the PC and it's all out dated now lol. I'll still take a game console any day of the week because they can game better than PC's at similar or even higher specs and I don't want my super heated oven computer in my living room. lol
There's 384 bit too but it's not always about that. I say don't care about the bits and just get the best graphics card you can afford and that will work well with your computer's overall system. _________________________________________________________ 10% VIP Discount (Coupon Code: HQ-VIP-001 ) - Signup for web hosting at www.TweakedHosting.com/clients/aff.php?aff=004 and earn the HQ network of sites recurring income!

Couldnt a person just sli two 256bit cards and have better performance than consoles? _________________________________________________________ The internet, a place where people expect you to know what they know.

Well you could scale back the graphics on nearly any game. Still you will need to see what your games minimum requirements are. That's why I say get the best you can that won't break your bank and that will compliment your computer. _________________________________________________________ 10% VIP Discount (Coupon Code: HQ-VIP-001 ) - Signup for web hosting at www.TweakedHosting.com/clients/aff.php?aff=004 and earn the HQ network of sites recurring income!

Yes you could sli or crossfire your cards. That's what I have. heck 1 of my cards would beat PS4 and xbox one no problem. Still there's allot more money in a real gaming pc than a game console not too mention that the PC is more cumbersome to stick in with the big screen and stereo equipment lol and that's why a game PC will never truly replace a game console for me _________________________________________________________ 10% VIP Discount (Coupon Code: HQ-VIP-001 ) - Signup for web hosting at www.TweakedHosting.com/clients/aff.php?aff=004 and earn the HQ network of sites recurring income!

Depends 7850s are $150 and for two it would 300 cheaper than both.
so I'll probably just buy a 7850 and use that for the next couple years

Yes especially if you already have the PC _________________________________________________________ 10% VIP Discount (Coupon Code: HQ-VIP-001 ) - Signup for web hosting at www.TweakedHosting.com/clients/aff.php?aff=004 and earn the HQ network of sites recurring income!
And a 7850 will rock top line games for years to come. Hell Im still running a 6850 and I can play RE6 at max with MSI afterburner recording it. If you got the cash to build a kick ass gaming PC do it. Consoles will always be below a top line rig, after all they are only gonna dump so much money on hardware. And usualy games are made to run at what would be medium settings in the PC version. Just be sure if you plan on going into hardcore PC gaming you clean the PC weekly as a ton of crap will get sucked into the vid card and cpu, and that you use after market coolers, typicaly the ones that ship with cpus and PC cases are sub-par.
