Hi I have just bought a 250GB HDD for my 360 (obviously) and need to transfer all the game saves and stuff from the old 20GB drive which is faulty.... It keeps showing an error code and takes about 5 re-starts before it will let me play the damn thing...
If I put the new HDD on without transferring all the data will I be able to transfer later or will I need to do the transfer before i use it...
Dont want to f**k it up as its just been delivered

Sorry i missed your post, it must have slipped down the active topics..
Did you end up sorting this one out?? Sounds to me like your original drive is completely dead and you will need to re-download all your content from xbox live directly..
anyway, if you still need help just ask and i will do my best to reply,
the 250GB HDD works great, but not bought a migration cable yet.
cant download anything from x box live as I'm Banned for having a modded box

hopefully once you get your data migration cable you can still transfer your content.. Im hoping its not marked as corrupt/banned for you, i know they locked down the hard drive, achievement pretty tight once you have been banned.. It makes it so hard to get any use out of it really!
