recently reading some info about bans with flashed firmware, i think i have a possible answer to why robbie was banned without playing on live and it seems..possible i was reading about c4eva and he believes that when ur flashing ur dvd drive if u use the power supply from the xbox (or probably meant the xbox ur going on live with) (it was a poor translation from spanish) the xbox makes an error log of the xbox being booted with out the dvd drive attached, if this is true then it would be very easy for ms to find the modded xboxs! was also reading about angles and speeds but it makes my eyes blur at the sheer technical ness of it! c4eva was refereing to one of his firmwares xtreme onlive, dont know how useful this is or if its just mad thought it would be interesting
I don't know if the power supply would know the difference, but maybe something in the cache would. It might be a good idea to wipe the cache clean after a flash. I mean come on. If M$ started looking for boot error logs on their consoles and started a banning parade. They might be barking up the wrong tree. It wouldn't be hard to fake a boot error by turning off the console and on again in a rapid pace or other means. Then what, it's bad enough they have the red lights coming to them, now it's banned consoles because of their hastiness.
I trust what c4eva says, or at least his ideas for us to ponder so I'm trying not to bash hard and its hard to know what exactly he is saying through translation. Has this been digged somewhere? What's the link.
Thanks
I've powered my 360 on a lot of times without the drive in it and I'm still on live so I don't think that is it. _________________________________________________________

i will find the link and post it later, ponderous tho!
Well it could also be his theory mixed with others. Microsoft isn't going to ban based on one factor or they would ban a bunch of non modded consoles. Say someone modded their console with the power supply and then played a few games like two weeks early and maybe even one of them was a bad rip, I think Microsoft would have enough information to ban someone. They can't ban people based off one thing because lets face it, a 360 could error on itself so it will take a lot of things that are happening to a lot of people to collect enough info.
As a note 360-HQ does NOT support piracy and any talk of it will result in the topic being locked and maybe the member being banned

ya, I'm trying to tread lightly on the subject but giving some insight on what it might be. I'm not a coder, but I like to think out of the box. I might not be able to build it, but I sure as heck can mod it

Hi all,
Many people need to change out xbox 360 dvdrom drives legitimately including microsoft themselves when they are sent back for service.
My guess would be if a machine has been back for M$ service it would get some sort of flag in their database which means it would get past alot of the normal checks & logs (specifically hardware changes) because otherwise everyone who has had dvdrom drive problems and changed them out like I have myself many many times would be banned instantly..
but, really, if the xbox 360 is going so strong they have no need to ban most people because they always own the originals and still buy and support the developers and publishers.
just my 2 cents,
