The 360 sells are just fine with out Blu-ray and why add something that will jack up the cost when its doing just fine.
Even if they just made an external Blu-ray drive for the 360 it would be the same as the HD-DVD and the people wont buy an add-on when they can pay a bit more and get a unit just for that job that has more features.
Just my two cents.

Very true i really dont think MS should even do sumthing like that i like the 360 how it is right now and look at PS3 with Blue Ray pretty expensive even tho its been dropping lately i think the only problem with the 360 is the RED RING OF DEATH!

yea, MS wouldn't hae lost so much money if they had taken a little more time to make sure everything was perfect instead of rushing the job. _________________________________________________________ The Burninator...

As Ms Stated before a Xbox 360 is a gaming system people are going to buy it to play games on, the only reason i would want to buy a ps3 is its almost the same price as a blu-ray player itself so i could play games and watch movies if i wanted to u know. We might see it as a must in the next generation console but for now its just a gaming system with the potential to run movies and music from usb and external harddrives or streaming it right from your network or even NF if u live in the usa but other then that i dont see blu-ray coming to xbox 360 anytime soon. _________________________________________________________ The one the only Scarface!!
Not to mention they way the Blu ray laser's are starting to die on the ps3's, and replacements aren't cheap either...$70 plus depending where you get them. Not to mention the new one might be bad from the start as well. Way too much hassle.

Indeed wait awhile and they will go down just like anything else. If you really want to watch blu-rays then just go out and buy one. Xbox 360 Console was really made for gaming but they opened it up more with streaming and all that which was cool but in all fact for myself i choose to watch my movies in a dvd player lmao thats why i bought a dvd player ha. _________________________________________________________ The one the only Scarface!!

the biggest crime of the 360 for me is their insistance on sticking to dual layer dvds for games on the 360, it just doesnt make sense. at the time the 360 was coming out there wasnt much support of hd dvd or blu ray, so i can sort of see why the ydidnt opt for a new media type, but if they had supported hd dvd it would have been a huge stick in the eye of sony, i feel ms has totaly just allowed sony to create blu - ray and make it the standard hd format with no struggle. Id still buy games for 360 if they were on hd dvd and a slight bit more expensive, and it would have been a thorn in ps3s side (well even more so) i make my opinion on the assumption that if 360 had supported hd dvd the sales of the games would ave kept the format alive due to the massive popularity of the 360.
This has to be one of the longest running rumors around. I'm sure microsoft is working with blu ray products but that doesn't mean what they're doing it with. For all we know they could be making their own stand alone blu ray drive, adding extra support for widnows (and even MCE), etc.
I think until M$ announces something it is fair to assume that we won't get blu ray for the 360. M$ has said it before and they will say it again, the 360 was designed for games not to watch movies on.
Best Regards,
