i'm assuming you have sharing enabled in WMP 11, even though you are using winamp remote you have to enable sharing in WMP 11
and why its not working with some files is very odd...i am sorry but i guess i can't help you..maybe someone else can...
if anyone else is reading this and has an idea, please help out. _________________________________________________________ http://www.myspace.com/discardedtelepathy <--my music, please let me know what you think...

Do you have extentions set on your PC as hidden or can you see them at the end of every file name. The reason I ask is that Divx and Xvid have a .avi extention and x264 files have ones like .mkv. If they are hidden are you positive that all of your files are .avi ? if they are any of the others like mkv they will not work. I keep both types in one of my shared folders and the x264 files will not show up at all on the 360.
The .avi TV episodes that generaly work are the 350 500 and 700 MB files the 1.4 Gig HD files will not work as they are the mkv types I was talking about. _________________________________________________________

I know they were all avi (except for one that was mp4). Now I'm curious if this makes any sense, but when I had two computers on the network (all wired through a Linksys WRT wireless router, even the 360 is wired), the streaming did not work. Now that there is only one computer on the network, everything seems to play. It's quite strange, but seems to be the fact. Movies that would not play at all before play perfectly.
Any explanation ideas? Whatever it is, I'm just glad it works.
Thanks

maybe the other comps had sharing disabled, or something. not sure why that is happening but that is interesting.
now as far as mkv files, i can play those on my 360 just fine...wierd... _________________________________________________________ http://www.myspace.com/discardedtelepathy <--my music, please let me know what you think...

I tried it with both sharing, only one sharing, etc, but things only work when the one was not on the network at all. Who knows.
Thanks
