yes with 12v it will run a bit cooler, it would have to. it will be louder of course, and the fans burn out faster that way. the aftermarket fans are made for 12v constant, and are made to run quiet at full speed so it shouldnt be much problem. i chose to keep the system control for mine because it turns them up if it gets hot, and turns them down low durning dvd playback. id say its a personal preference thing.... do whichever looks like fun to you _________________________________________________________ .

Well here's a question for you... Is there a limit to the amount of devices (altough they would be small they would still need 12V) that i can attach to the 12V power connection of the DVD drive. Right as of now i want to put 3 items that need 12V into the 360 and i am afraid of frying something. Please tell me before i go and buy these and burn the shit out of my new xbox360.
Thanks

im guessing it will be fine, but i havnt tried it yet. keep in mind that the 360 draws more juice than a refrigerator so its really designed for juice-sucking. you could probably run a cathode, some elwire, a handful of leds, and 3 extra fans off of it honestly.... _________________________________________________________ .

check this page for the good points... if you're using the dvd line 12v id say the nice big ground right at the dvd wires would be a good choice _________________________________________________________ .
