So am i right in saying that the fans DON'T need to be powered by 12V?? simply replacing them instead of the stock fans and using the same wires like you did will be fine?? Damn, that would be great. Although now i'm not sure if might still do the 12V fan mod just for the hell of it, lol.

yep thats right. mine are running right now off the stock fan lines. they still retain the system control that way. hooking them direct to 12v would work fine as well. _________________________________________________________ .

Do you reckon there would be much of an improvement in system temperature if i did the 12V mod? If it wouldn't be that much then i wouldn't bother doing it.

It would basically have to improve performace. More Power = Faster Fan Speeds = More air moved = Cooler Components. _________________________________________________________

Well that's exactly what i thought sjohn, but i was wondering would it be enough of a difference to warrant the modification? I mean, 12V is better than 7V in anybody's book and expecially considering that the fans are only producing 26db running at full speed/12V that's not too loud, ya know. Coincidentally, does anybody know what the decibel level the stock fans run at on their regular wiring?? I'd really love to know the answer to that to compare it to my new fans.
