I live in an area of california that gets very hot during the summer, especialy now, we currently have some of the largest fires in history burning in the mountains about 100 miles from us. They have been burning for around 2 weeks now and are not expected to be out till september. Right now the high atmosphere winds have shifted moving the smoke in another direction but last week every day was orange from the high smoke layers, Realy spooky looking like nuclear winter. but it did keep the temps down to a comfortable lvl do to alot of the sun light being blocked out. Here is a pic i took last week at about 4pm of the sun over our roof. the pic came out just slightly darker than actual, but just a little. you could stare directly at the sun without squinting. Guess this is what it would look like globaly for a year or 2 if a good size asteroid ever hit.
