Im not a fan boy of any system, I love games, so why limit myself to what I can play by sticking with only one system. I know PS3 does not have alot of games but it is still only at its begining of its life and with only a reported .02% failure rate compaired to my second 360. I think it will have amazing things to come. I think the blu-ray format will make for some great very large, high character number games. Having played a ps3 I can tell you that the online service is fine, I have no problems with it. and its free, as far as game play it runs freekin smooth, have yet to see any lag. One gripe with the ps3 i do have is the controler. the first time i played with it I was thinking, is this realy a ps3 controler or was my buddy just using a ps2 controller. it looks and feels exactly the same and is very light. I like a little weight to a controller, also they have no rumble which I would rather have than the axis movement thing. not realy interested in a wii, just not my kind of game play. but I would like to hav a ps3 next to my 360 and even upgrade my gaming computer. check out this article on the blu-ray version of Unreal Tournament 3 and what the developers say it will have that the 360 version will not. I can see this being true for more and more games in the next couple years. here is a link to the story.http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/15/epics-mark-rein-pleased-with-blu-rays-legroom/

blu-ray smooray.. thats all we hear..
What about some next gen games eh and decent online lobbies etc etc

What about the news of ID's new pixel compression which will save a heck of alot of space.. And really why do you need all that space particularly when you can have downloadable content via HDD anyway.

PS3 has failed miserably this time and its obvious why.. They focused too much on their new blu-ray technology and not enough on the gaming machine itself hence why there are no, or should i say hardly any, good games on ps3.

If you want to get a ps3 i dont mind but i wouldnt particularly waste my time..

Most people only want ps3 for blu-ray/backwards compatibility or because only certain games are coming out exclusively for the ps3.. Now that more and more games are coming to xbox 360 that last reason is useless..

just my 2 cents,

hobbs

Well i'm sitting here with tears in my eyes (and great big bags under them)...... Cool

I've only had it for a week and i love the 360 and can't see any reason to spend $600.00+ for a PS3 when the only game i want, that it has is F1 but i think that's only till next year.... Smile

well some game developers like the one in the above linked story said they dont plan on messing with extra downloadable content for the 360, but will have all the extra maps and content on the ps3 disc.
I think ps3 will do just fine, its just starting out crawling, give it and the developers a year or 2, they are still learning how to use the new technology and how to program for it.

Come on man, how much credit can you give sony.. They delayed their initial console release, they delayed most of their games and everyone I know who has bought one says it just doesnt compare to 360. (I have to agree). Another thing which had alot of hooks in people was that their were going to be lots of exclusive titles. Funny actually as now most are on 360 as well..

btw.. if you live in australia and want backwards compatibility for ps2/ps1 titles then your shit outta luck.. Once again.. lol

By the time some nice games get developed the xbox 720 or whatever they call it will be under development..

The PS3 is obviously alot harder to develop games for and with all these dev's admitting it there is no wonder you are all still waiting for it to take off.

Seriously gamexxover, i used to love SONY and be a big SONY fanboy but not anymore.. They are just getting too greedy now.. They had the whole games industry in the palm of their hand and they still fucked it up.

Thanks god Xbox Live came along otherwise god knows what single player campaign games we would all be bored of right now.

Ill be getting a blu-ray DVD Player too btw.. I like the idea of it but just no need in a games system right now. It's much smarter when programming to work with what your given anyway and I could never see any need for that much data with games at their current level.

btw.. dont let me change your mind if you love the PS3 man.. Just telling what i think about it. If it was that good I would have one myself.
