I can never get it to work on PS2 when I want it, it never works the same way for me twice. On that i would push the select button to activate star power.
On 360, i have no idea where the placement of the button is or if that is even the still an option on the 360. _________________________________________________________ XBOX v1.6

it is still an option on the 360 version but they took the quarter sized button that you get on the PS2 version and shrand it down to about the with of a lead pencil you can see by looking at these pics.
Just by looking at them even though they are smaller pictures im sure you can see how dramatically they shrank the select/back button on the guitars _________________________________________________________ Death becomes you.

Indeed, I just came across my first guitar hero end cap display at best buy today.
The machine was down and no one would turn it back on, so I only go to hold the guitar and see.
But yea, that does suck, maybe a new button relocation with a new button, sort of like how llama.com did the south paw rewire of the joysticks (if someone needs an idea of what i am talking about.) _________________________________________________________ XBOX v1.6

This game is great, I have my wife playing it right now. Nice to find a game where you dont get the nagging effect. I tricked her in with her favorite band, Nirvana. She took one stab at heart shaped box and feel in love lol.

You can add a secondary back button anywhere you'd like. I suppose on the neck of the guitar would be ideal. I got so many projects at the moment, I doubt I can squeeze in this mod for awhile. I can show you how its done, probably wouldn't take more then 45 mintues to complete.
I got a lot of mods, and painting projects that I have put on the back burner for far to long. I'll be doing a complete customization gh2 guitar project sometime this month. I'll write up a full on tutorial when that happens, and I'll add the secondary back button to it. Or you can ask how its done, and write up your own tutorial if you'd like to rush the project some.

hmm adding in a button on the neck of the guitar to activate star power would be fucking awsome, it would help greatly, maybe adding it to the back of the neck towards the top? or below the orange button a little, so it out of reach of accidental activation but in range enough to press when needed. _________________________________________________________ Death becomes you.

You could put it anywhere, I had my guitar apart the other day, and checked the connections on the back button. It will be extremely easy, a few soldered wires and a button and your good. Also there is a lot of room in the base, and neck of the guitar to run the wires. Few dabs of hot glue and you'd be done. Id say about a 50 minute project tops.

Doing it would be ridiculously easy, it would take more time to really dremel out the hole to make sure the button is perfectly snug (i am anal about that). There shouldn't be any trouble with the wiring and an SPST style plunger switch.
However, it isn't my guitar, so i can't open it nor add anything, they are my roommate's. And it is only PS2, so I have no issues with it right now.

I am glad you guys are actually going to go through with it. I would have probably gotten frustrated enough and done something about it when i eventually got it. I was really partly kidding and throwing a random idea out b/c I had remembered the llama stick mod at that second. I definitely would like to see how it works out for you guys. _________________________________________________________ XBOX v1.6
