If you want to learn how to backup your own original games to keep them safe feel free to visit our xbox 360 tutorials area here:

You will need to flash your firmware on the xbox 360 dvdrom or install a firmware modchip.. There are no additional benefits of modding your 360 at this stage apart from to backup your own investment..
