Yes and PS4 is launching a much less aggressive network and there will far less innovation anytime soon from the the Sony camp. xbox live uses will have the better of the 2 experiences for online and enhanced gaming. Microsoft approach will be well rewarded in the long run and so will the xbox one users

Dunnoa bout you but all I want out of a console is being able to log onto mp whenever I feel like it and not have to worry. You keep ignoring the fact a typical consumer wont give a rats ass about something like that. Most can't even see a difference between 720p and 1080p.

Who are you speaking for? Blind people. There's a vast different 780P and 1080P. There's something wrong with your eyes or your TV if you can't tell the difference.

You can log on whenever you want. How does that change? What is there to worry about? Your 360 is always plugged in anyway, has a wire ethernet or wifi, there's no difference.

That's where I completely disagree. The xbox users will care once they experience it. It will be like going from old CRT to high def 1080P TV once you do, it's hard to watch the old stuff. There's no going back, they won't want to. I think the regular guy is going to love and appreciate what MS is trying to accomplish.

What you and many complainers that are on a xbox site promoting a competing console are overlooking is how much advanced freedom we are going to get with the xbox one.

Here's some quotes form the internet,

"While there are limitations, the family/friend game library policies, and the fact that you can still sell your games back to companies like gamestop, or sell/give them to a friend that's been an xbox live friend for more than 30 days, should alleviate most of the issues, at least for a lot of people

Especially with the family/friend game library sharing stuff, I feel like i'll be coming out way ahead even with the restrictions. I have family that lives really far away that I'll be able to share games with digitally, that I would never be able to lend a disc game to without paying to ship it back and forth or something dumb like that."

"good point! it's amazing how no one is actually reading what MS said and creating the fantastical "what if" scenarios about how evil a small restriction is on them. i personally see a lot of potential with the new xbox and their digital and streaming capabilities."

"The ability to share all your games with your family is a slap?"

"I can only give you the info that is available, but I will do it as devil's advocate so people may a fully informed decision. Think of family share akin to a phone favorites list. You must know them for one month and both must use the option respectively. I believe it is also permanent. The requirements are merely that no shared game is being double dipped by another family gamer. Xbox Live needs no assurance, family is subjective. Disc based is piracy riddled, this allows the machine to reject all piracy. You have to physically give those games. Microsoft is laying the foundation for digital access. Your friend 2000 miles away can play your library and you him. You can also loan out licenses of your games through other means for a small fee."

"Family can play games that are in your game library on THEIR console, even if they are living 3000 miles away. So if you have family/close friends on the other side of the country you can share games with them, and they don't even have to come visit to pick up the disc to borrow it like they would on the PS4. How is that a slap in the face? That's an incredibly generous sharing feature."

"I agree with you, and soon enough people will see how great this program is, that is assuming it ends up working out how we are reading it here... Sure we have always been able to share a game by taking it to someones house, this is just a better way of going about it... Just last night a friend of mine was saying I can borrow his BioShock Infinite however he doesn't live close by and its going to take a while to get it Razz This system I could just hop on and play!"

"You can't unplug the Kinect, no, but you can disable it in the settings so that it only turns on when you are actually playing a game that absolutely needs it. Many games will still use the Kinect as an optional accessory like they do now. So it does have to still be there, but if you turn it off it won't be watching or listening unless you intentionally do something that uses it.

There will be some used game restrictions, but companies like gamestop can still buy used games from people, just like they normally would, but they just have to deactivate the game you're selling back from your xbox live account. Since all disc based games get installed to the xbox one so that you don't need the disc anymore, if they didn't do that you could endlessly still play a game even after selling it.

Then when you want to buy a game, you just walk into a gamestop, pick it up off the shelf and buy it like normal. Then once you stick it in your own xbox it will tie that disc to your account now, until you sell it back.

Because of the need to remove games from accounts when they are sold (to prevent mass copying of a single copy of the game) there will be some restrictions on who you buy from and sell used games to, but as long as you do it from a retailer that has the capability of doing this, you'll still be able to get used games to your heart's content."

"Oh, one additional thing. If you primarily borrow/lend games with the same small group of people. MS has announced a family/friend game library sharing policy that says that your friends and family can play the games in your game library from their own xbox one, without even borrowing the disc or anything. So you can share games with family/friends that are far away, or really close, just as easily. You are limited to a max of 10 people, and there are probably some restrictions on how frequently or if at all you can swap those people out for others, but it will make sharing your games with people way easier in some cases than on PS4. I'm personally really excited at the idea of being able to share games with my siblings that live really far away from me right now. You can read more about this sharing thing here:

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/06/microsoft-defends-the-xbox-ones-licensing-used-game-policies/ "

I'll end there, that was from one site users bantering back and forth on both sides. The quotes above try to convey the truth and how great just a few of the advancements in gaming will be on the xbox one.

I think I will post the link as a news story now.

lol Since you seem hell bent on trying to prove how much greater the xbox one is I'll stop arguing about it now.

There's 2 sides to every story. All I'm doing is bringing out the good, agreeing to the bad and providing reasonableness to unreasonableness. lol

I see the amazing gaming and advancements coming to the xbox one. I see the amazing gaming coming to the PS4. Why would I not speak up? People are afraid of change. That's clear. It's documented in history. What these people seem not to get is that the change to digital is coming whether they want it or not. Sony is going to do the same or they will fall behind.

As I said before, people aren't afraid of change they're afraid of the useless crap that they're going to be forced to use. lol

Ps4 will have its cloud service with gaikai next year

http://www.pocketgamer.biz/r/PG.Biz/PlayStation+Vita/news.asp?c=51507

Sony had eye toy, then the kinect followed
Sony had expandable storage with PS2 then Microsoft followed

Microsoft just refined the ideas,

In July 2012, Sony purchased the largest cloud gaming service provider, Gaikai, for US$ 380 million.[18]

That's nice but they are still far behind in the game. Microsoft has been doing the advanced cloud for years. They have the experience, the money, and the infrastructure to do it right.

I applaud Sony for trying to play catch up. Still will their online service ever really come close to xbox live? maybe someday, just don't forget that Microsoft constantly improves it. Microsoft built their online service themselves, they didn't have to buy out some game service that they would now will have to completely change to meet their needs. It's always best to build your offerings in house.

all in all the the console wars are a good thing. We all will benefit from better games, online gaming and also entertainment. You can't go wrong in choosing either a xbox one or a PS4. So just love gaming my friend and game on!

For those that say no one is going to appreciate the xbox one, why is it selling out faster than any other console in history according to Amazon. Yes PS4 is selling well too and I am glad it is.

Did you miss the part where I said Sony had the eye toy and expandable storage first? the original xbox didn't even have usb ports like the ps2 did even then Sony was experimenting with usb 1.0.

I never said Xbox one was crap. It will come down to exclusives as I've said many times. It's selling out more than likely because Microsoft did push out good exclusive titles at e3.

Not to mention sony ALREADY made a dvr system a decade ago. lol.

You are wrong Kenneth. The DVR system of ps2 was a big failure, failures cannot count otherwise I can argue the first console with HDD was the Dreamcast (the HDD for Dreamcast was a big failure).

Tweaked I also disagree with you in some things. The digital only gaming is not the near future trust me. Look at audio, stores still sell loads of CDs even after the itunes mania. When I buy a game, I like to the Disk, I also hate to have to wait to for a 25gb download tto finish (The PS4 allows you in some games to start before the download ends, plus let also remind you that Xbox One will sell games on Disks)

The Xbox One has better games, better controller, better Live (but more expensive). However I may buy the Ps4 since I can buy used games from ebay for around the world without permission of the develpor (no way EA will allow that)

I am right that they did make it first before microsoft however. A DVR console that can play games is what i mean

So what, we are dealing with now and the future. The eyetoy didn't change anything in the game industry the Kinect has. The eye did not do what the current Kinect can do. It not even comparable and neither is the Nintendo wand (fun but gets real old fast)

xbox did have USB, the controllers were USB, you can even make storage out of the controller ports. Still the first hard drive in a console was by microsoft. Sony has a nice list of failures, Betamax any one? but so what, yes they made mistakes but they still did some great things. Same goes for Microsoft, love them or hate them, they constantly try to improve the user experience with xbox live being their crowning achievement. All the complaining and misinformation comes down to what really are changes for the better.

This is all getting pretty stupid. The future of gaming is almost here it's too bad there are people who are unable to recognize it. People can keep trying to blur things, nitpick, create hypothetical fantasies designed to scare the average user, in the long run this will not work. Plenty of people already see it for what it is, some great new features are coming and so is some great gaming.

Agreed on the exclusives they are important but there are many reasons people are still going to choose an xbox one. Nothing is black and white to have carpet statements one way or another. PS4 will do great, they both will.

I didn't say you said that xbox one is crap Kennethk

X_Splinter, the digital gaming is already here and it is the future. It's coming sooner than anyone thinks. I just think it is coming too soon. I think we should have the options but guess what we do. xbox one like you said supports both digital content and hard copies. All I said is it is going to happen, it can't be stopped and mainly for piracy issues it's going to be pushed. Microsoft is positioning firmly in this regard. I find it very hard to believe people can just spit at Microsoft for being so generous in the game sharing department that is made possible by the cloud.
