Hi all,
Just a quick msg to let you know that tweakedhosting.com and I will be upgrading the site servers and some of the backend to help improve page loading times and server usage..
At the moment we currently transfer around 1TB of data everymonth on the HQ's, so we are tidying up our infrastructure for the future..
Sorry for any inconvenience, but as you all know, we plan to be online for many years to come.

So far so good! xbox-hq and 360-hq are both running the database off the second private server. Preliminary main server load is 2/3 less on average now. That is quite an improvement. A few guys are reporting it to be a little slower

well its slow here on first load... takes about 20 - 30 seconds before the html shows up on the screen. posing seems fine.
ok so on the main url
360-hq.com loading is slow
lower right hand status bar says 360-hq.com
no ads or anything.
/forums and /modules are ok.

thanks for the reply mate.. I have noticed our advertisers are having some problems today.. So that means the site will load slow since we use their servers for ad space..

Yeah, HQ server loads are much lower now. Even running a full server backup on the main server spare drive and the load is far less than before.
The reason is that MySQL is drive based so it constantly has to access the drives. with a server this busy, the database was choking processing power since the drives were having high IO load. It still ran satisfactory but now should be more smooth.
The thing is with things quicker on the HQ server, you will notice more if ads are on slow side now. only other thing we might want to do now is optimize the database since I haven't done that in such a long time.. Since psp-hq and pc-hq aren't going that well it might even be an idea to scrap most of their database sometime in the near future.
