Too tell you guys the truth I can't wait until Grand theft auto 4 comes out so I can stop hearing about it so much. I have really never been a fan of the series and never really enjoyed the over the top violence this game represents. From what I have heard several times a day and read on this site several times is that this game might change my tune and hopefully that is the case. But yeah getting a little burnt out on constanly hearing about the game. That is just my opinion though. As far as blu-ray is concerned I will not even consider converting over to it until they get the price down to a realistic number. The discs and player are still silly expensive. Don't look for me to be jumping on the blu-ray bandwagon for about two years. _________________________________________________________

He He , in a way that is sort of an interesting load experience you may get on PS3, I just do not have the patience for something like that. Truth be told, and we all know this, just about every game on 360 loads faster than the PS3 to start a game. They still can save game data to the drive if you have one and in the middle of gaming, I have yet to have a problem with the streaming the 360 does for content. Why, the DVD drive is quick!
My prediction, the 360 game will kick ass hard. It doesn't really matter which is 'better', since they said they are making GTA for the system they will run on and high lighting the strengths of each system. The truth is, this game is gonna be good no matter the console you play it on.
But yeah you guys bring up some interesting points to ponder and heighten the anticipation of this game.
As far as the violence and adult themes, well this game is not for your kids, keep them away. If you not like these things then this may not be the game for you. However, it is not just about that, these games are one of the reasons gaming is as cool as it is today with the free roaming environments previously only found in RGPs. This is the about the best gaming man has ever created. The modes GameTap was able to play were Team Deathmatch, GTA Race, Cops 'n Crooks and Hangman's Noose. Much like EA's Burnout Paradise the switch from offline single-player to online multiplayer in GTA 4 is seamless, with players simply having to access their in-game mobile phone to get online. The mobile also comes in handy during multiplayer game modes, with players able to call up the opposition and deliver some trash talk.
The preview states that online is split into ranked and unranked matches, with the ranked variety where players will want to spend most their time once they've picked up the basics. Here players will earn cash for winning, which in turn can be used to open up more character customisation options. Accumulated cash will also be used by Rockstar to determine a player's skill level.
The most interesting of the multiplayer game modes GameTap got to play is Cops 'n Crooks, a cooperative game type in which players work together to get their boss character from point A to point B. One team plays as the criminals who must escort their boss, with the other team in hot pursuit as the cops.
Another interesting mode is Hangman's Noose, which presents cooperative, objective-based missions with four human-controlled characters going up against a vast AI opposing force. Each of the missions begins with a cutscene and it's then up to the four-man team to complete the set goals using teamwork.
More familiar to GTA players will be GTA Race, in which up to 16 players can race to the finish. Cars will be destructible and players will also be able to arm themselves with weapons to gain the upper hand. The game will also feature a straight-up GT race mode in which no weapons are allowed.
Perhaps most exciting is that the entire GTA 4 Liberty City map will be open to explore in multiplayer modes, giving players the freedom to approach each game type and situation how they wish.

On this i can agree as far as price driven it is very expensive, i too wont be making a jump just to watch movies in HD but if i do get a ps3 then oh well ill have a blue ray and what not, it have to be a good reason like ps1/ ps2 backwards and maybe a game that exclusive to ps3,... besides those reasons i woulnt get a ps3 and yeah its a good thing its backwards compatibe i have a lot of ps1/2 games.
tweeked yes and no the game will look great but if its rquires more processing or details that a 360 cant deliver then thats where a ps3 comes in place, i personaly only own a 360 well owened since it just got RROD as where ps3 doesnt have issues lol hear that ms.... but on several games for ps3 its been proven it has better grahfics such as cod4 , i do agree GTA is not for kids and is a great amazing game and its needed for each generation, if only it was adults only then we would have fun like we used to do back in the days. yes the greatest game ever _________________________________________________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions

A friend has a PS3 with COD 4. I rented the 360 version of COD and went to his house. He has both systems (Elite). He has the same TV as me too.
All I can say is, on the the best DLP TV with native 1080P you can buy as of a year ago, COD looks and plays better on 360. Over all, it ran more smooth and has more details visible to my eyes. I have good vision. I can read the whole eye chart from 10 -20 feet away. I see details others fail to in general. This is no joke. This has been proven when I used to do component level repair when people with 20/20 vision needed the magnifying lights, I didn't. I just needed good lighting. The funny thing is everyone in my family has glasses but not me at least for now.
Anyway, I have seen COD 4 on the same TV rated by Consumer reports as the best DLP at the time, even scoring higher than all LCD and Plasma for clarity, color, and brightness and then using upscaled 1080P on a HDMI 1080P native to boot.
I know some people see differently and may like the smoothed out blended looks that systems like the N64 offered but not me. I like seeing fine details, having quick loading and a game that doesn't stutter or at least minimally.
Oh and by the way, Blueray is about half the streaming speed of DVD and HD-DVD, hence the need to move almost the whole game to the hard drive. The speed of the current P3 Blueray drives is stuck that way but that doesn't mean Sony can't release future models with faster less buggy Blueray drives. There are some big issues with Blueray failures out on the Internet right now too.
Also Eventually, I'll get a PS3 for Blueray, but not for maybe a few years. I wouldn't be buying it for gaming because of the 360. I bet many people will do this, buy a PS3 for the Blueray and over look gaming. This means few games per user and not much profit for Sony. ... If Microsoft ever releases Blueray for 360 then of course I will not ever look at the PS3.
Well, I will be able to compare the 360 version and the PS3 version of GTA 4 on one of the finest visual TV's. I'll let you all know my verdict when I get that chance.
Please don't be offended by my statements, if you do not agree. I base my findings on actual use and experience but it is also based on what I like and dislike. Cheers! GATA 4 is almost here!!! I am developing a nervous twitch in my trigger finger... jk
