I guess im posting this in the right place But anyways, im Jumbo, 20, and ive been sober for two years.
Ive mainly deal with older consoles but ive been looking into 360 a bit and wondering what i can do with one and what not, but they seem to be a pain to mod, but like i said im just poking around at it and looking to learn a bit from the forums here.
Just to keep from spamming up threads, ill ask here, whats the easiest way to mod a 360 and the pro/cons of each method? _________________________________________________________ Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward, whoever can not take care of himself with out this law is both. Well it depends what you are after.. If you are looking to play homebrew emulators and run custom dashboards etc, you will be wanting to look into the RGH (reset glitch Hack)
1. RGH
By sending a tiny reset pulse to the processor while it is slowed down does not reset it but instead changes the way the code runs, it seems it's very efficient at making bootloaders etc.
If you RGH your console you can run all the homebrew stuff, but you won't be able to use xbox live.
2. Firmware Mod
If you are looking to be able to run backup games then you will be wanting to check out firmware flashing. Basically you want to backup your original dvdrom firmware using pc tools and reflash back a hacked firmware.
Another mod which is similar to the firmware mod is to install a xk3y 360 chip.. Once installed the xk3y chip allows you to load all of your Xbox 360 games, movies, pictuers and more from any USB drive you connect.
Hey Jumbo, Imo if your just looking to play back ups then go with a TX Pro unlocked board
If your on a phat system then the drive can be flashed easily but a slim requires a new dvd pcb unlocked bord, I think most if not all drives support it I run a 0225.

Thanks for the welcome.
From what ive read though, i cant have a console RGH'd if its been updated, right?
@Ken If its at all possible i just want to have one unlocked to its fullest potential just to see what it can do. Care to explain the board thingy more? Im a COMPLETE and total noob to 360.... Ive only beat like 4 games on the thing... _________________________________________________________ Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward, whoever can not take care of himself with out this law is both. I would say it depends on which Dashboard version your xbox is running. That's where i would start.. Heres a video that may help you learn a little more.
I used to have a JTAG console many years ago but it died and i never bother doing another (actually didnt have the time), but i still do alot of repairs etc for the 360 which involved firmware stuff more. I hear it's alot easier to do the RGH these days too!
The latest things im interested in are the x360key and the boxzii USB harddrives for XBox 360.. You can load your games on to the USB and play! _________________________________________________________ HQ Network:

You dont need it, you only need a TX pcb board if you have a blocked x360 drive. Buy a fat xbox 360 and you will never need to buy any pcb board _________________________________________________________
