Sorry Halo fans, it looks as if the Halo movie is no more due to rising cost and inexperienced directors have caused the project to be scrapped.
Both Universal and Fox Studios have pulled out of the Halo movie adaptation, citing rising movie costs and concern over the inexperience of first time director Neil Blomkamp. As the budget was rumored to be edging closer to $200 million, and Microsoft getting a lion’s share of the profits, the studio execs decided it was time to pull the plug.
I would still like to see a movie about Halo though _________________________________________________________

Oh well, they were proposing some actors for the part that would ruin it anyway, the actor I thought would have been good for master chief is Kurt Russel, Did you see him in Soldier? He did that part great and would have been an awsome master chief, but now he is showing alot more age, so maybe not soo good now. Im sure the movie will still be done but now it will be a low budget straight to DVD and also probobly be showen on the sci-fi channel, with bad acting and crapy sets.

I read the link in the post above and I guess they will go ahead with the movie, ( MS will be paying for it I guess and they have alot of cash to throw arround so maybe not so low budget after all) I think it is good the big movie exects are out of the picture and out of the way, and hope the casting for Master Chief will be based on who can really pull off master chief rather than going for a big name, or having some WWE wrestler playing the part. I heard a while back they wanted DENZEL WASHINGTON to play Master chief, WTF!! Yes thats exactly who I pictured under the helmet after all these years playing halo. Heck why not Tom Cruze, or hey I know ...Owen Wilson.
All I know is the casting is going to make or break the movie for the fans.
