I've had a working 360 with a bad disc drive for a while and just never got around to attempting a JTAG or RGH. I was searching for a possible way to replace the Disc drive without modding and I found this link...
It tells about a Program called Infectus. Has anyone ever heard of this or possibly tried it?
More info: The main board inside the disc drive seems to be fried. I've already replaced it with a board from a working drive and no luck. The board itself, is what needs to be swapped. _________________________________________________________

yeh i've heard of it, but never had any experience with it. I only ever had one JTAG and it didnt last that long either since it was a real early one.
mmm, swaping drives, if you can manage to get the same drive (model) all you will need to do is edit the keys. Here's a tutorial to replace drives that i wrote for normal users without JTAG. Not sure if it will help any.

It is the Philips & Lite On drive and to my luck, I have two others lying around. I will take a look at the links and see what I can come up with.
Thanks Hobbs for the super fast reply. I haven't been around the forums for a good while, but I can always count on you guys to provide the fastest and most trustworthy info. I love this page and all of you guys for putting forth the effort that you do for all of these years and I'm sure many more to come. _________________________________________________________

Will do. Do you know any places where I can get some good deals on adapter cables? I found a few USB 3.0 to sata adapters, but not too excited about paying $20-30 for a cable I'd use once. _________________________________________________________

when you say a good deal on cables, can you give us a link to something your looking at? kennethk might know some places in the US. SPPV may know more about Canada. We'll see if they have anything to add

eBay really, just refine your search to where it says Distance first for faster delivery. Thats pretty much the going rate on them.
Not to mention lifetime warranties in case it ever stops working _________________________________________________________ The internet, a place where people expect you to know what they know.

Ok, well maybe I can find a shop locally who will possibly do it for me. I can't drop that on something I'd use once. The pockets are little tight these days. I'll keep my eyes and ears open. _________________________________________________________
