Found this by accident. Sharing only with the 360-hq members, lets keep it that way.
THIS WAS ON PC, PLEASE TEST ON 360 AND LET US KNOW IF IT WORKS THERE AS WELL.
Mortars can not fall on you if you have something overhead shuch as a roof, cave, overpass etc. BUT..... mortar rounds can go through all these when going up and out. You can be inside a building, cave, under the highway etc and fire off mortar rounds and still hit targets outside.
It seams when you fire a round, the game code does not read the round as a single item. But as 2, one fires up and a separate comes down.
when you fire and it hits something and explodes when going up, this does not cancel the game calculating and setting off the Down mortar round. You can even do this on canals back in a corner and pushed right up against a building or wall, the round will hit the building or wall in front of you and explode but the down mortar will still activate and come down on enemy. As long as that enemy is out in the open.
I am sure they will figure this out soon and patch it. its nice on Metro when your team is pushed back and trapped in the bank and can not get outside, you can get back where they can not snipe you and clear the street so your guys can get out.
Do not use to stat pad, I used here as a demo, but only do this on Metro when we are trapped and being spawn raped, Please do not abuse it.
FIRING FROM INSIDE THE TUNNEL UNDER THE MOUNTAIN AND HITTING TARGETS AT ENEMY ENTRANCE OUTSIDE, ENEMY MORTARS CAN NOT HIT YOU. MORTARS ONLY GO OUT THROUGH OBJECTS, NOT IN.
