Hey all, just traded out a dead dvd drive in a friends old xbox. It turns out it sitll has the blades dashboard, quite sure this means it's exploitable!
Has much happened or changed in this scene? I'm seriously thinking I'm going to try and see what I can do with it! _________________________________________________________

why not give it a go, i doubt a huge lot has changed apart from the homebrew loaders etc.. Still quite a bit of work to get it JTAGGED though, plenty of emulators are starting to come out now like MAME and lantus is also working on AMIGA360, which should be good.
wish i had the time to screw around with another JTAG, but i just don't have the time no more.

If you don't think you have the skills to do it yourself, it doesn't cost that much to get someone to do it, seen people doing it here for £30.
I got mine brand new and already done by a professional, best money i ever spent, and the most
Biggest advantage imo, is playing games from the hard drive without needing to change disks.
MAME is great, as hobbs said Lantus has released a version based on 0.72 as that version is best for Mortal Kombat.
But obviously, no xbox live and there never will be, just Xlink Kai, which is hardly worth it sometimes. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.

Here I am. .. Some tips for soldering, the board is BGA layout (Ball Grid Array), so don't expect the wire to go through, just apply the wire on top of the point and recover the wire and point with a little solder just enough to get the wire covered.
Tinning the wire might make it more easy for yah too. Just cover the wire with solder and let it dry, makes it less bendable. Also, once everything is soldered right, I recommend to use a 32-bit computer if you have one. Just makes things a little more easy. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them for yah. _________________________________________________________
