I've decided to attempt a Jtag on my spare Xbox, but I'm pretty sure it's not compatible. My dashboard version is. 2.0.9199.0. From what Ive read here, its not possible for that version. However, I found another broken 360 I'm going to attempt to fix and Jtag. With all that said, I was wondering what the latest and greatest ways to Jtag were. Seems like I've seen a few things about a USB hack of some sort? I'm trying to go the simplest route, if there is one. _________________________________________________________

The JTAG exploit is performed through hardware modification, so you will need to open your xbox up and do some soldering. The Playstation 3 can be modified through the USB ports but not xbox 360... The dashboard 9199 cannot be modified sadly enough. Although if you find out the motherboard of your possible JTAG vulnerable console I can help you more with tutorials and such! _________________________________________________________

I just ran across this tutorial on "How to JTAG Your Xbox With a USB Flash Drive".
I'm not in the position to determine if this is legit or not. I thought I would let you guys check it out for me. Seems simple enough if it really works. I dread having to do solder points to Jtag the regular way. Let me know what you guys think. _________________________________________________________

Well I guess since everyone is ignoring this topic, then I'm just an idiot for thinking you can Jtag without soldering. I'm a complete Jtag noob. I just wanted an opinion or some info. _________________________________________________________

I appreciate your honesty S1mme. I might word some things wrong sometimes, but anyone who thinks they can help should get me to elaborate if it's not clear. Basically, I saw that link I posted late one night and I guess thought it meant I could Jtag without opening up the Xbox and doing the solder points. I'm pretty sure I'm wrong since nobody responded.
Just saw the link X_Splinter. I saw that in the tuts section. I just got confused I guess and thought the on I saw meant no soldering was involved. I'm just going to have to suck it up and try it when I find a compatible 360. _________________________________________________________

Hey, the tutorial was probably the biggest joke I've ever read in my entire life, not beaking you or anything. I'm just letting you know that performing the JTAG hack is not possible through USB, and 99% likely never will.. In that tutorial the author used incorrect terms which don't even exist..
Quote:
Xbox 360 consoles are manufactured by Microsoft and are shipped with internal motherboards that contain a JTAG code unique to each console.
That is 100% incorrect, there is no such thing as a JTAG code. The only thing that would identify your xbox 360 is your keyvault (what is used to ban you from Xbox Live) or your CPU key (stored in the CPU, used to encrypt the NAND/flash memory which contains all your dashboard and system files).. Sorry for the late reply, I've been a bit busy lately. _________________________________________________________

Thanks so much Legendary. That sums it up for me. I thought it seemed a little too good to be true. But who am I to say. Well that being said, I'm gonna continue my search for a Jtag-able around my area. I will try to hone my solder skills a little before I try and possibly ruin a good Xbox 360. _________________________________________________________

Someone post a comment in the bottom that says everything:

You must believe in Santa Claus to make it work. This is useless without Santa
