Yep, everywhere I look ... Kinect is sold out. Walmart has even raised the price to $200 proving what a greedy company they are.
Amazon pre-orders could not even be completely filled leaving some pre-orderers out cold until they can get more Kinect stock. I was one of them but I complained saying all sorts of mean things and bam, they found one for me the same day and shipped it. It should be here in a few days. Pretty sad that I am getting it 6 days late after pre-ordering it way back in June. The shipping estimated time of arrival was 10 to 16 days late before I contacted them, I am so glad I complained!!!!
On ebay, people are selling the Kinect for over $200 bucks, how lame!
One place that still is selling at $149 and has it in stock as I type is Gamestop. So if you have been scrambling to get your Kinect for yourself or for a gift, see if Gamestop still has them in your area. I completely disagree with your statement but that is ok if that's how you see it. It is far more than what you described. WII was a gimmick, I can say since I tried it out. Fun sometimes but easily faked, and no real benefit.
Kinect goes 1000x past anything the WII can do right to full facial, voice and full body recognition. Eventually this will mean some kick ass gaming in the RPG department. It is a joke some of the opinions out there, there is no way to realistically compare what the PS3 and WII offer in this regards.
I welcome it as this is the first real change all gamers need and will benefit from. I don't really care of the current drop of games except the dance and exercise simulations are going to rock better than having a personal coach. Overall, I am more excited about what the Kinect can do for hardcore games that can respond to your demeanor, from your smile to your frown and so on.
That's where the real coolness of Kinect will blow away anything and everything. Assuming they can take to that level. That's what I want to see.
Hell I am even changing everything in my house just to have the proper Kinect setup. I would never do this for anything in the past. Rock on!!! Yeh, I bet they aren't too easy to come by.. I love the technology, can't wait.

I'm gonna wait and see if it goes down a little bit cause 149 sounds a little high to me and I wasn't to impressed with the launch tittles anyway

Well I got my kinect and a few backups on lt fw and all the kinect isos.
The backups that I have burnt just show dvd logo or say play dvd any body know any thing? split dvd file different of course abgx hasent posted any of them yet ?

Yeah some stores didn't sell out for some reason but if you try to order on their site it says sold out and $200 bucks. Anyway stock will change by the day.
