I have a arcade box with this drive and I need to flash the firmware. I was looking at the Xtractor Pro v2.3 and was wondering if I need anything other than this device to mod the drive. Any comments are needed and welcome.

Well depending on the drive you might not need the xtractor but they are nice to use compared to the xbox 360 power and that. I use the maximus xtractor it works great on all drives. If you have a lite-on drive and really want to dump the full firmware you will have to do some trace cutting and some soldering and get the vampire or the xtractor probe that has 2 pins not 1.
Unless you dont care about dumping the full f/w of the lite-on drive if you have it that is then you can get the other probe the single pin version and not worry about cutting traces that only works on the lite-on rom version 748 what ever the rest is ha but the 838 v1 does not need a probe to be flashed but the version 2 838 and 934 have to be done with trace cutting and soldering to get the firmware.

lol my bad i did not read the title i just woke up ok well i think if the console is made after july 09 its most likely a version 2 only really way to tell is hooking it up and using jungleflasher and find out it will say but if your trying to dump the full firmware anyways you would want to get that probe v2 that has 2 pins as you will be required to cut and solder anyways.

K yea i have the older model and it works great so that one should to. You might want to get the vampire probe just incase if the drive is the version 2 you will have to do the cutting of the traces anyways then and the vampire probe helps with the process. Once you get it hit me up again and i can help out as i have pretty much the same one.

Also i should say if your looking to play on xbox live and that your going to want to do the full dump method with the cutting of the traces and that to get the full firmware dump on your lite-on That is what they actually recommend to do.
