Hi everyone,
i live in cairo, egypt
and i just bought an xbox 360 elite and i think its modified to read copies and it works perfectly since i dont connect it to the internet
yet i have one problem that i hope you'll help me in
its the same problem as i read several time in this forum
the dvix/avi problem
is there a way to update it without connecting to xbox-Live ???
and and keep it modified ?????
please advise i really need to update it

unfortunately you will need to connect to the internet for the divx/avi update this is because the update is signed to the specific xbox sorry to be the bearer or bad news! only way is to hook into an internet connection!

You used to be able to play DIVX & XVID offline before the latest updates.. It was great.. I don't know what happened..
You can read more about it in our other topic here where we all got things working ages ago..

To read avid you need the "optional media update"
It is an update connected to you xbox like any DLC, you need to connect you 360 to the internet then if you try to play the xvid the console will ask you if you want the update just say yes.
If your console is banned, the only way to play it is via PC stream _________________________________________________________

i think u still need that update if you trying to play it via pc stream, pretty sure. This is the one thing i hate about the 360 and the only thing is this media update is signed to each individual xbox 360 which should not be like this for people that dont have internet but still want to use the xbox 360 to play games and stream it through the pc. _________________________________________________________ The one the only Scarface!!

i still love the fact that my xbox still runs divx offline, my mates xbox needs to be hooked into live i believe but fo me its all good! guess my xbox is a freak!

if you follow the tips in the other topic about this problem on 360-HQ it will hopefully fix the problem for everyone..
I do know you can go and download the DASHBOARD UPDATE to do it manually via DVD/CD so maybe it has codec support?? has anyone tried it? _________________________________________________________ HQ Network:
