Been using your 'sister' site psp-hq form my son and finally got round to sorting that out for him lol
Now on to the next step, he has just got a xbox 360 live and wants to test out some demos, but the built in hdd isnt big enough to download them to, so i was wondering if the USB on the back of the unit can be used as i have a usb pen flash drive that you can put any size micro sd cards into.
This would be a lot cheaper then buying a M$ mem card, but my searches on the net tell me this cant be done, but im hoping it can be.
I put it into the back of the xbox but it didnt show up, so im presuming you cant.
If i cant download from his live account to the USB can they be downloaded to my PC first then put onto the USB and play on the xbox?
I have searched the forums a bit but cant find the right thread, so can someone help me and my son please.
Im sorry to say man but i am 99% sure this cant be done.

Microsoft are wankers. Every arcade pack that they sell is a rip off. You get a 256mb card with it and are forced to update the dashboard which takes up half the memory. That leave you with piss all space for game saves. My mate said his kids game save for nuts and bolts was 1 gig.
The arcade pack should come with the 20 gig hard drive. I'm sure someone could sue M$. As soon as you log onto live, you have to then go out and buy a hard drive, which will cost you another few quid, and then you might have just as well bought the premium pack.

It is very apparent that MS is not willing to give you anything for free, thats why i held off a few extra months for an Elite.
You know thats the only real option if you don't want to build your own HDD, even that needs a legitimate key number.

You can burn demos to disk. Found this somewhere on the net.
Quote:
You don't have to have a modded console to play this game,
it'll work on any 360. Just download the files and unrar
everything as normal. You should be left with a folder
called "content"
Now simply use a program such ImgBurn to make a
data cd and burn the folder called "content" you just made
onto a blank CD Now just place the CD into your 360 and
navigate to your games library. In the Demos section you
should now see the game.
IMPORTANT
MAKE SURE THE "CONTENT" FOLDER IS IN THE ROOT DIRECTORY
OF THE DISC. DONT JUST BURN THE CONTENTS OF THE FOLDER,
ACTUALLY PLACE THE "CONTENT" FOLDER IN THE ROOT DIRECTORY

Funnily enough i found that post for Res Evil 5 which was one he wanted to play and it worked like a charm.
The problem is being able to get the demo onto the PC in the first place, does anyone know where to get xbox demos from other then from there marketplace?
M$ certainly are wankers lol, looks like ill have to buy a USB hdd for future use

You won't be able to use a usb hdd, you have to buy an xbox 360 hdd.
There are places you can get the demos, look on google, but i doubt you will find many. Your best bet is to fork out for an official xbox 360 hdd i'm afraid. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.

Ok thanks for the info mate
One last question(hopefully lol) Do you have to keep up the subscription to be able to download the demos from the marketplace, or can you still access those for free?

The only benefit with a gold subscription is that you can play multiplayer online. If your gold subscription runs out you get down graded to a silver account. On a silver account you can still download demos, chat with friends online etc. you just can't play multiplayer. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.
