I'd say at least a year or more to get it going. It seems as though this gen is late to the modding scene. _________________________________________________________

personally i dont think it will happen this gen. it has been 3 years since the 360 was released and all you can do is play burnt games.
No dramas, the 360 has alot of features that the modding scene could do on the original.. _________________________________________________________ Mattster

Well they had the update last year or the year before that they managed to exploit, but it is not for the average user. Not sure if you can do it to the new dash either?? And they did something with the King Kong game.
So it has been done, but it is too involved and i'm not sure if anyone got very far in developing anything for it???
But like SiK_WiD_iT said, security is more of an issue now and M$ have more time and money to prevent it than hackers have to crack it. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.
Hehe had a guy ask me this same question the other day...Its not going to happen with the 360. Microsoft did its homework and learned from its mistakes and you wont be modding any console from Microsoft from now on in my personal opinion. But hey the 360 is a great unit without modding it so why even try? _________________________________________________________

If you could mod it you could have mame and other emulators running. You could put a decent media player on it, you could upgrade the hard drive and pay normal prices to do so, you could have the games run from the hard drive without having the disc in the tray.
All the modding we loved from the first xbox are the things we want to do on the 360. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.
Those are great points and that would be really neat but I think if it were possible it would have happened by now. Didnt the first modchips for xbox 1 come out like two months after its release? Its been three years and no modchips yet so I think it is just not going to happen. But hey we can still dream huh? _________________________________________________________

I'm not 100%, but i think it took about 1 year. They rushed the xbox because of the PS2 and done a crap job of making it secure, which was good for us as they gave us the best multimedia machine ever made. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.

Then instead of trying to mod the 360 which is easily bricked if you're not careful, grab yourself a used xbox 1 for like 50 bucks, mod it, and have the stuff you want plus a working 360 that you can play online? _________________________________________________________
