We have all had DIVX and XVID support on our Xbox 360 since the last dashboard update but i'm sure most of you don't even realize you can just go and purchase a USB Ext. HDD or a NAS Server (ext. network storage) and watch all your movies, listen to mp3s or scan through your pictures on your XBOX 360 directly from a USB HDD.
Well if you didn't already know.. Now you DO!
Below is a list of tested USB Ext. Hard Drives & NAS Devices. This will make it much easier for you if you are thinking about purchasing one.. Just choose one from the list that is 100% compatible out of the box or use our tutorial to format it.
This list will be updated by our moderators and admins. If you have a Ext USB Harddrive / NAS Device that is working or NOT Working please reply and let us know if it us not in the list.
100% Compatible NAS Network Server's:
- QNAP NAS Servers (All Series)
100% Compatible USB External HDD's:
- WD 'MyBook' ESSENTIAL II - 250GB EXTERNAL HARD DISK
- WD 'MyBook' ESSENTIAL II - 500GB EXTERNAL HARD DISK
- WD 'MyBook' ESSENTIAL II - 1TB EXTERNAL HARD DISK
Compatible USB External HDD's (after format):
- SEAGATE Freeagent Desktop" 500gb USB External HDD
Please note: The Tutorial above is only required if you want to hold files which are larger then the 4gb filesize limit of FAT, FAT32. It will format the EXT HDD into HFS+ Format. _________________________________________________________ HQ Network:
