I just wanted to know if it was possible to hook a External usb hard drive to my 360 and if not why not? I mean it has usb ports on it why wouldnt a external hard drive work on it? Your immediate response to this most important question would be appreciated. Very Happy

it all has to deal with formatting, luckily ozzy found a way to format it so it can use any size external drive

Thank you very much for this very informative link. Now if I do this and have a external hard drive installed to my xbox 360 and I know this is a newbie question but bare with me. Will I get banned from xbox live???

nope, because your not doing anything against the terms of service, all your doing is plugging in an external drive to view media from (like music, videos, pictures) its not like you can save your game saves or download content to it and edit it, so you have nothing to worry about

Yeah I have one hooked to my 360 that I use for divx movies and music and it is great. It sure beats having to ftp them to my original xbox.

Just a update.

That tutorial works fine but you must own the full version of the software coz when the trial runs out your hdd will not be displayed on the pc.
