Hi all,
As im sure you all know the latest update just happened and ive been testing out my HD DIVX videos i have here and i must say WOW..
Ive tested DIVX HD TV Shows and a XVID 5.1 DVDRIP which i made and both work flawlessly..
Ive been waiting for this codec update now for ages and its finally here eh.. I normally use my Xbox 1 to watch my videos etc but now i think it will be 360 all the way especially with the huge improvement the 360 makes on my plasma.
anyone else had a chance to play some DIVX or XVID?
I have found some files dont play but the ones which were encoded correctly work just fine..

Only had a chance to try a couple of files out tonight, but from what I saw it was VERY nice
You would have a better way of testing it properly hobbs with your 5.1 setup at home, I mainly just observed the video quality and the sheer brilliance of being able to watch XVID on the 360.
Which brings me to this question, is XBMC360 going to be needed now, I dont think it will...
@Hobbs: There are some .avi codecs whch ain't supported, like x264 for example, maybe these files you are trying to play have this codec. There is a PC Application called GSpot which can tell you what video codec is being used in the .avi file, this is the first thing I'd be checking.

Yup, im thinking the same thing. The only thing homebrew is good for would be to gain some use from that HDD on the 360 and some emulators. I mainly was wanting divx and xvid support too so i cant see the need for XBMC360 now..

tell me about it.
Ozzy and I have gone to a bit of effort to write up a tutorial for all our members and guests so they can store all their DivX/XviD files on a USB HDD..
