hello , can anyone help me , i have a toshiba lcd , 37wl56 , and my lovely 360 . unlucky for me the tv does not have component connections , i am using a joytech hd vga lead but not able to play in 720p or 1080i . this is annoying as i can only play in pc style resolutions. is it my lead possibly , or am i doing something wrong. any clues ???? the tv display my sky hd at 1080i so why not my 360 !!! cheers Blaniac

Just set your resolution to the correct resolution and it's in HD, 1280x720 or 1920x1080, that's all 720(p)/1080(i/p) really is the I/P is of course a bit different but it works fine.

I have several adapters for my 360's..
One VGA adapter which i have i notice that it only gives you options for whatever the adapter supports.

My normal adapter with RGB component cables shows only a few options when it is plugged into the same console..

anyway, just thought id share.

cheers for your help , do you think as i`m using an after market lead , it might be better if i used the official microsoft lead ??? if you do i`ll purchase one , if not i guess i`ll be shopping for a new lcd .

Well..

To make things clear..

My XBOX 360 VGA Adapter it is:
- DRAGON360 VGA HD-AV with Optical Output (Multi Function Cable)
http://www.ebay.es

When i access my console Display settings with this adapter operational i receive the following display output options:

Dragon360 VGA HD-AV Output:
- 640x480
- 848x480
- 1024x768
- 1280x720
- 1280x768
- 1280x1024
- 1360x768
- 1920x1080

My Xbox 360 HD Component Adatper is:
- Xbox 360™ Component HD AV Cable

With this adapter fitted to my 360 i receive the following output options:

Xbox 360™ Component HD AV Cable Output:
- 480p
- 720p
- 1080p
- 1080i

I'm using the Microsoft VGA HD AV cable on my Acer AL2423W and I get these options:

640×480
848×480
1024×768
1280×720
1280×768
1280×1024
1360×768
1920x1080

Although I'm having issues with 1920x1080 at the moment.
