my question is, can i run xkey and rgh on a rgh slimbox or must i remove the rgh

Of course you can, the thing is: Why would you want an Xkey if you have RHG console? _________________________________________________________

i wanna try the latest firmware for Xkey that says you can play xbox 360 backups on dvd from a usb dvdrom, and my xbox drive aint flashed.
Can you please tell me how i can use the xkey with rgh

It's a normal install but you dont need xkey with rhg console you can play games from an external hard drive _________________________________________________________

You can but it is a waste of money. The Xk3y allows you to play games from an external hard drive but you can do the exact same thing with a RGH without issue. I have all my games stored on a 1TB external hard drive and play them right from the external.
The XK3y was designed for people who want to be able to play games off of a hard drive while not having their console exploited. Since you already have your console exploited all you need is a third party dashboard (software) such as FreestyleDash & you can then load your games directly off your hard drive that way!
