Microsoft is giving away ‘Texas Hold ‘em’ to XBLA users for the first 48 hours after launch.
The promotion only lasts from Wednesday, August 23 at 0800 GMT (1am Pacific) through For 48 hours only – Wednesday, August 23 through 0800 GMT (1am Pacific) Friday, August 25.
Not only is ‘Texas Hold ’em’ free to all gamers, this title comes equipped with features that can only be found on Xbox 360. Designed to simulate the risk-reward of real poker gameplay, keep gamers honest, and discourage opponents from betting too recklessly, ‘Texas Hold ’em’ has an innovative new feature called Persistent Bankroll. Your virtual bankroll is tied to your Xbox Live Gamertag and keeps a running tally of your chip count. If you lose all of your chips in a poker game, you’ll have to play lower stakes buy-in games to make back your stack and earn your way to the big tables.
For those who miss the boat, the game will be available for 800 Microsoft Points. But you better believe we'll be staying up late Wednesday to download this puppy pronto.

Yes yes, it is me and yes i am back in the game. I know i have been away for several weeks (although keeping a secret eye on you guys by (ahem) by borrowing internet service from my unwitting neighbour who has not secured his wireless network or doesn't know how to secure it, lol)) and i see you have all been behaving yourselves (for the most part, lol) but yes i am back on the scene and hopefully with a bang. I have missed you guys so much but don't start getting all soppy or anything, i'm just happy to be back online.
Anyways back to the subject, i don't care what i have to do, i'm getting that game ASAP and i think it would make an excellent game for an 360-hq tourney, don't you???? anyways, when it comes out, we'll see who is actually the best player on the network. Maybe we could have a real life tournaent with a prize at the end or something, Hobbs, if your reading this, maybe we can set something up if we have anything of value or if someone wants to donate something. Personally i'd donate something myself but what with the new house and the new tv i'm getting this weekend...
...I don't exactly have alot of money or prizes that i could donate to our loyal members. Anyways guys, it's good to back in the asddle woth the best on the scene.

[/b]Y'all!!! This is huge. This is only the "tip of the spear". Not only will this create groups of players, it can create regional competitions and like you mentioned, we could even hold a sight tourney too.
This will set a standard of things to come for the competition, as well. If MS is willing to serve up morsels like this (free)...imagine what they'll be willing to in the future when Sony and Nintendo are at play.
