I was raised on Nintendo actually.
I don't see why more people wouldn't want to go with Sony just over the fact you don't need to run out and buy specific connections.
If they're going to pretty much have the same specs then why not go with a console you don't have to buy bs for.
Remember how cheaply made the headsets were that shipped out with the 360?
You pay for live, and get to play online that's great, then you get all these extra apps asking you to spend an extra $10 a months, bs. The top apps people use is Ie/youtube some facebook though.
M$ is trying to hard to go for all in one devices.
Okay you can watch TV on the xbox one, How do you set it up run a HD cord from your cable box into the back of the xbox? What's the point? If it had Coaxil on the back cool, yeah alot of people still use Coax connections. lol
That's why I like Nintendo also, look at their handhelds the DS's for example all use the same ports but they have their flaws also like Nintendo shipping 3ds LL's without a ac adapter for other countries.
Sony, you game and save more money that's all there is to it and it's a fact.
I don't think Nintendo charges for online gaming also.

I agree with most of your points, and i know you agree with some mine! I don't know why you're worried about cables and such, they are just normal shit. Your either technically minded or you're not. It's not just the cords I don't see the point in it, you already have a cable box you can plug directly into your tv. It doesn't make sense to me. You already have a device fully capable of running HD tv.
From the teaser video looks like it'll be black, hell they xbox one may ship out as a white bundle soon just look at the r2d2 console or the skylanders console.
I really wish they would've just gone with matt I have a strong dislike for glossy finishes.

I am looking forward to TV on the xbox. I hate cable boxes. Now I won't have to switch between inputs and it will be more integrated into the xbox entertainment experience. Will come useful when playing a game and watching NHL at the same time. Something that happens here with picture in picture but picture in picture sucks and you have no interaction with that.
Over all, I have no interest in the PS4 other than exclusive games. Power wise, it is the same league as the xbox one so it holds nothing hardware wise over the xbox one especially since xbox one has bluray this time around.
Xbox Live VS PSN - There is no comparison. Xbox Live is leagues ahead of PSN right down to the presentation. Xbox Live screens quality and has a solid network with no major hacking of the user accounts unlike PSN. Live has ten fold the servers to boot and soon to be 100 fold more
Why I hate Sony - Now while I do respect Sony as a company I really do hate them. It has nothing to do with XBOX or PS either. The reason I hate Sony is because they are scum of the earth. Sony created virus's in the 90's. Sony had watchdog trojans contained in the movie DVD's they released. These trojans were exploitable by any hacker and they could gain access to your PC if you ran the DVD in it.
Why I hate Sony 2 - Quality of stereo equipment is shit. My dad is a Sony nut and everything he buys is Sony. He thinks it is the norm to have to buy a new piece of stereo component every year or 2. I have a NEC turntable that is 18 years old and still works mint. I have a pioneer multiDVD player/recorder that been thru hell and it still works mint. My Dell and Samsung monitors just keep on trucking. I bought a big Sony 1000w stereo system about 12 years ago. It lasted ok for the first 2 years, then the speakers started farting out. Then the receiver started having intermittent glitches and shorting. I had to rewire and replace caps and I noticed how cheesy and cheaply made everything was. Now when you pay $2000 plus for your stereo, you expect it to have quality contained within. I do not abuse my stuff. The only thing that still works on the stereo system is the tape deck component. I am glad it was all components. Next up is my Sony monitors = just plain suck. I will never buy a Sony monitor ever again. Have a had many for various reasons mainly because I buy and sell computer equipment, there is just too much to list for what goes wrong with them.
I could go on and on. I have had many bad experiences with Sony over the years. The final straw was when Sony unfairly stomped on Sega and the Dreamcast. The only true real console gaming companies in my mind will always be Nintendo and Sega. The worst day in gaming history was Sega bowing out of the console manufacturing. You gotta do give them credit for being more universal. I mean I love how you could use any mic on the ps3, didn't anyone else?

I'll be waiting to see what the PS4 has. If it offers nothing more than the xbox one i wont buy it. If it offers better games or improved graphics then im in.
