I got a 360 at midnight on launch day. Screwed around with it for a couple of hours and went to bed.. work you know. Tuesday afternoon I played for about a 4 hour session, then another 2 hour secession and then the screen goes all funky checkerboard pattern while I'm in the dashboard, and the controller freezes up. I turn the 360 off and back on again and I get the three red lights of doom on the circle of light. After 2 hours on the phone with M$ and trying all the fixes nothing worked. They said they would ship me a box to put it in to ship it to them for repairs. I will get the box in 2-5 business days and the 360 back in 8-10 business days. Bullsh*t.
I tried with and without the HDD in. I plugged and replugged every connection. I DID NOT however try the cleaning of the power conectors idea.
At work today I called gamestop and asked about their return policy and told them what happened. They said they would call me back later. So after work I get home and there's a message on the answering machine thats says they have a replacement 360 for me and to bring everything back that came in the box. Sure as shit I get there with the dead one and they turn me on to a new 360!
WTF happened to the shortage? WTF happened to the waiting list longer than my arm? (they only recieved 24 on the first wave) WTF happened to the dead 360? I don't know the answers and I didn't ask. I just grabbed the new 360 and got the hell outta there.
I'll save the M$ box for repairs, if it ever shows up, for another day and hope I never use it.

Glad that gamespot sorted it for you.. Saves alot of hassles im sure..
Let us know if you see any more bugs too.. Its interested as i havent sourced my 360 just yet..

Yeh, Well theres alot of people talking about crashes so maybe M$ have allocated replacemets. I hope they release some form of patch for PGR3. damn. You got a fine lap time going streaming your tunes from PC (System of a down or Fall Out Boy most likely) and BAM! your £280 360 stops dead and gives the dreaded error.

This happen to one of my friends. We are suppose to get enough at GS to the people that resv. their 360.
So to those that think they are going to get one, think again. Sorry but it's true that there is not going to be another shippment until after X-mass sometime.
