I really have a hard time believing these specu-facts that keep popping up over the PS4 and 720. Just looking at the supposed hardware would mean either they are gonna run like a $1000 or more easy or else M$/$ony is gonna be losing like $6-700 on every console. Just the CPU alone would run a few hundred. Even older Phenom CPUs still cost around $200. A GPU to sustain 5 years would mean something on the order of a 6950 so theres another $400, 8GB RAM theres another $100, BD player another $75.
So yeah call me a skeptic
You have different prices when you buy hundreds of thousands of those at the same time _________________________________________________________
Looks like M$ is going George Bush style. Did you happen to read the article on that monitorimg software M$ patented Hobbs? XBOX meets the Patriot Act. And from the way the article you linked reads its expected to be included in the new XBOX
"A patent application by Microsoft for "Content Distribution Regulation by Viewing User" has surfaced. The filing, which was made with the US Patent and Trademark Office on April 26, 2011, and was spotted by Eurogamer, outlines a system designed to monitor viewers as they watch; ensuring compliance with licensing for music, games, and film.
The technology works by using cameras (no explicit mention is made of the Kinect or a Kinect successor) found in home and mobile devices to take still or moving images of the consumers and their environment. The system then compares the number of viewers visible in the frame with the licensing terms attached to the product; prompting watchers to purchase additional licenses (as required) for each person watching."
So I guess the idea now is not just to make you buy a movie or game but rather make you buy it 9 times if you plan on having company over.
That's a little scary actually.
Damn right. I cant believe they would even allow such a thing. Its a combination of stalking and robbery far as Im concerned. How many people happen to be at my house watching a movie or playing video games is none of their business. If this gets implemented I can see M$ takeing a massive hit. This wouldnt go over well with anybody with half a brain cell or concept of rights and freedom.

There is no way that would go forward. People would never accept that.
At least in Europe they can't do that. _________________________________________________________

Well, I was linking Microsoft with some of their products lately but I guarantee that if this happens in the next xbox, I'll switch over to my long hated enemy Sony's next console!!!
