Xbox 720 gets official
While no official announcement has been made, rumors have been circulating for a while now that Microsoft plans on updating its Xbox console in 2012. Nintendo should be in Vegas showing off the Wii U to CES attendees, and Sony has its Vita handheld system to talk about — but with neither expected to announce big new projects, this leaves the door open for Microsoft to steal the gaming spotlight with the Xbox 720. 2012 is also Microsoft's last year at CES, so they'll want to make a big impact as they head for the door.
The Xbox 720 is rumored to have an AMD processor, Blu-ray disc drive, Windows 8 compatibility, and deeper Kinect integration than the Xbox 360.
This was a news article i was reading but they might be releasing a new one or maybe they are just going to officially announce the kinect 2 who knows we will have to see? _________________________________________________________ The one the only Scarface!!

My guess will be the new xbox (I doubt it will have 720 as name) to be released in Q2 2013
I hope they dont rush it and make it full of problems like the Xenon ones
One thing is for sure, it will be very challenging for modders. _________________________________________________________

I love using a PC for gaming, but the xbox is superior in the way you can communicate with the team and also just jumping in a game with your friends, Playing on a PC is a lot more impersonal. I would love to just Use my PC to plug right into xbox live and play online with everyone else.
The next console is really going to have to be a huge leap over the current xbox. Back in the day people were saying the next xbox would not be a total jump in tech, Not so much a 720 but more like a 540 if that makes sense. But I just do not think that is going to cut it.
It is going to need monster storage as MS is still pushing towards DLC rather than discs, Games are going to get quite a bit larger in size.
The game developers have been complaining for a while now that they just can not do what they want to do because of the xbox limitations.
I can see blu-ray being used or another much larger format than the current discs. I know Bill gates back a few years ago swore Blu-ray would never be in the Xbox, Maybe not, I don't know.
I really think SSD's should be used in future consoles, I know there is a cost issue but at the very least they should make it easy to plug your own SSD right into the new system if you wish, and I do not mean a Mod.
I have 2 pretty dang new PC's in the house, one with SSD and the other without, It is night and day, games load so dang fast, programs are super snappy, you click and it goes. You know in Skyrim at the load screens, it has a graphic and a sentence giving some kind of interesting info about something in the game, I have yet to be able to read an entire sentence of one of those, I do not read that fast. Then I go use the other PC running a HDD and I feel like I am on Dial up Internet.
So ya, on the next console if there is no SSD. I will Hack and Mod one it there if it is at all possible.
Something else I would love to see but I doubt it will happen, is that they do away with the "open the box and you void your warranty" bs. The box should have a panel you can easily open to do some house cleaning on the system once in a while, such as dusting out the Heat sinks. I'm going to do it anyway. Can you imagine if they pulled that crap with PC's? If you remove your side panel you void your warranty.
If they keep avatars, I would like to see an option for another style, something other that the avatars that look like they come out of a Nickelodeon Cartoon. I would like to have something that looks life like or like something out of a Todd McFarlane Comic. But then again that's more of a Xbox live issue.

While I wouldn't mind a new xbox, I still think it is too soon pretty much because of the Kinect. The new xbox gets a new Kinect making this one defunct. They barely did any great on it yet and now we have to buy another one. I do look forward to the next level of gaming graphics on the new xbox. I have a bluray player but I now welcome it in the new xbox. It took me a while to accept the bluray but I did, no other choice lol _________________________________________________________ 10% VIP Discount (Coupon Code: HQ-VIP-001 ) - Signup for web hosting at www.TweakedHosting.com/clients/aff.php?aff=004 and earn the HQ network of sites recurring income!

By the way, what does that mean? Forahobby, do you now need to make another site for the new xbox? I think it should all be combined to xbox-hq.com with relevant sections for each just like xbox.com covers all the xboxs. Probably easier for management that way in the long run. _________________________________________________________ 10% VIP Discount (Coupon Code: HQ-VIP-001 ) - Signup for web hosting at www.TweakedHosting.com/clients/aff.php?aff=004 and earn the HQ network of sites recurring income!

I disagree with that, if you look at xbox.com and 360.hq.com they both so many info that would probably make things a little confusing for the user.
But that's just my opinion.
PS: Alternative we could have a universal page like hq-network.com that could link to all websites _________________________________________________________
