Guys, i don't play either game but have a couple of questions regarding SOLELY the multiplayer aspect of these games?
1: Which is better, in your opinion?
2: What's the maximum amount of people that can play in a single online battle in each game?
3: How short/long (timewise) can each battle be in each game?

Can not really say one is better over all. One may be better for you but that would depend on your play style preference.
MW is more of a fun arcade shooter with much more instant gratification. BF is more of a simulation shooter with much larger maps where it may take longer to get those satisfying kills.
MW no vehicles, BF vehicles
MW online seems to be much better at having people communicating on the team and actually using team work on those smaller maps. BF being so large with so many vehicles and the such tends to be more of everybody doing their own thing. MW feels more like a team BF feels more like free for all.
If you love sniping BF would be a better choice.
If you can get only one, I would suggest getting a demo of each and trying it out to see what is more your style.
MW fan boys will tell you how much BF sucks and BF fan boys will tell you how much MW sucks.
So ya, play demos or rent/barrow to see what you like.

Everybody ignored questions 2 and 3!
Can i get some opinions on those too please? How long are the online games? How quick can they be finished versus how long can they be drawn out?

Ok, just to add my 2 cents.
If I had to pick between MW3 and Black Ops, I would go BLACK OPS all the way.. It's just so much nicer than the MW3 (graphics, online play, glitches etc).. MW3 for me was like going back 2-3 years to play MW1 and MW2 again, but i guess thats how they wanted it.
Battlefield is such a different game from Call of Duty, there is really no comparison.. The helicopters, jets, vehicles and all the amazing shit!
In reply to the 2nd and 3rd questions:
Like gamexxover said, the cod series is more of an action game and close quarters where as Battlefield 3 is more vehicles, and huge maps where games can sometimes last up to 40 minutes or more.
On COD my games normally only last around 15-20 minutes max.

- Max Players: 12 x 12 (Xbox 360) | 32 x 32 (PC)
- Average Game Length: 15mins to 45 mins
- Map Sizes: Huge
Call of Duty Series:
- Max Players: 16 x 16 (Xbox 360)?
- Average Game Length: 15mins to 20 mins
- Map Sizes: Small to Medium
I'm sure everyone see's me online, i play the shit out of BF3, and a little MW3 here and there with my other buds. I can't wait for BLACK OPS 2! You with me S1mme?

Hobbs got it spot on in my opinion.
BF3 For teamplay and realistic aspects.
mw3 for fast pure single play run n gun.
