I recently moded my fan to run at 12/v constantly I like the cool temp but not the noise. My question is this on the slim 360 to do the 12v fan mod all you have to do is cut the blue wire, after I decided to put in a switch (I know im not the first to do this) and it works fine my q would be this the blue wire that was cut was the "heat sensor" putting the switch in should revive the heat sensor right? (given the fan is running at 5v) and is there any "risk" that comes with doing this I did look into it beforehand but the only bad review was a guy on youtube (talking about the fat 360) saying its not good to pull power from sources within the motherboard due to stress and overheating on several sources of power on the board itself but is there any known negitives to the slim mod switch or not

You don't need 12v on a slim, you only need that on phat model with Xenon and Falcon motherboards _________________________________________________________

Of course it resets the dash. What you're doing is manually changing the voltage on one of the consoles devices without the CPU issuing the command to do so or even knowing it's gonna happen.
This could be very dangerous for your console and i recommend that you restore it's original functionality. just like X_splinter said, this is unnecessary for your Xbox version.
Also, the reason your WIFI card is being affected is because even though the circuit of the blue wire is cut, there's still voltage on it. This voltage is "leaking" and if it's right next to or near the WIFI card then it propagates an EMF (Electro Magnetic Field). Obviously there are EMF's going on all around us as wel as in the console already but the fact that you have a cut wire dangling next to the WIFI card only makes it worse. _________________________________________________________ Predtech

Are you using a separate fan that you have added to the box? If so, often using a larger diameter fan can give same or better airflow with much less noise.
