I have SATA ports on my motherboard, and also a sata/ide to usb adapter Can I use either to flash a drive? I have a 0225 slim drive.

You cant use regular sata2Usb to flash. The CK3 is to power your drive, you can use the 360 to power the drive

Note The Slim 0225 is fw write protected, you need to buy an hardware mod for it.

It's actually 1 time hardware mod, you can easily get the key from your drive but to write you need to make hardware modifications to your drive.

So there are 3 avaible options.

1- Replace the IC of your driver, it cost 20-25$ but requires some high skills to do it. Arrow http://shop.01media.com/info.asp?ProductID=38704

2- Easy alternative, no-soldering option, buy a replacement PCB, easy to install but way more expensive 50-60$ Arrow http://www.xconsoles.com/liteon-dg-16d4s-unlocked-replacement-pcb.html

3- Replace the entire drive with a genuine Liteon slim 9504, easy to do and cost the same as the PCB 50-60$ Arrow http://www.xconsoles.com/liteon-dg-16d4s-9504.html

Does 1 time mean that I can play online just fine? Or that I can only use the device to flash it once.

Also are those 9504 drives all ready flashed? I'll probably just order one of those.

1 time I mean you only mod the hardware of your drive once, after that you can flash as you like without the need of any additional hardware.

No 9504 are not flashed, you need to do it yourself because you need to flash it with your Drive Key.

I'll post a tutorial of how you to take your key, pretty easy.
