Hey guys, I knooow this is an xbox site but a ton of you are musically inclined too need someone who knows guitar repairs...My 40 year old hand made eko ranger VI guitar (original not reissue :O) took a fall yesterday and the headstock has snapped off above the nut. At first i was like damn it's gone to guitar heaven but it looks like the truss rod hasn't moved, and the neck looks straight was gonna get some wood glue and reattach it to try and get it playing again. It's vintage so i gotta try, otherwise i need to find a neck replacement for it. What i need to know is: do you think this is a complete waste of time and i should put her out of her misery??

hey bom, yeh mate im a muso and have been so for years, but i must say i have NOT been unfortunate enough to ever snap the neck of my guitar, especially such a nice one like yours, damn.
I even pm'ed a few of the other guys like DJB, who are into guitar/drums etc but he hasn't need to fix one neither. hopefully another member may see your post and have some tips. I on the otherhand, have none, sorry bro. _________________________________________________________ HQ Network:

To fix it proper the best thing to do is make a form that wil hold it 100% straight, you need to be sure to stagger the plys (if its not a solid piece). If its solid you want it so 1 piece will lay on top of the other. Lay it on at least two syncn straps that have a handle for tightening. Put in your wood glue put the guitar back together lay a rag on top and jack the synch straps as tight as humanly possible.
