Hi!
I try to backup the firmware of the dvd but windows didn't see it.
What is the common error about this ? It seem most people don't have any problem to see this the xbox 360 dvd throught windows. Because of that, i can't find a firmware tools who can see that i have my dvd plug into my computer.
Windows XP x 86 // Windows 7 x64 (i tried both)
I plug my dvd with the sata cable right into my computer. When i boot the computer, my xbox is already on with a dvd disc into the tray.
Your computers chipset is probably not a good one for flashing an Xbox dvd drive. What kind of computer do you have? _________________________________________________________

yes, exactly as darth said, your computer sata chipset is probably not compatible. To overcome this you could purchase a cheap add-on card for you pc and slot it in..
The VIA6421a is a great SATA card. I have one and many other members do to.
HP are terrible for modding, its those damn Pegasus boards, some of the cheapest crap ever put out. Of course the price doesnt reflect this.

you guys are giving all the wrong questions out the first then we really need to know is...
has this drive been flashed before?
What xbox 360 drive is it?
You using jungleflasher latest version?
As if this drive has been flashed before depending on which drive it is you have to do the half way open tray trick to get it to show up. Usually use the 2nd sata port from the main 1st one if you have a layout of your mobo and know what ports are what. Sometimes the 1st one is best too.
Now also in windows 7 64bit you have to disable drive signing which is all in the jungleflasher tutorial.
Like my Dell Computer i flash with hitachis always show up on the main board but have to use my via card for the others for some reason. It is true like the others have said sometimes onboard is not that great. But when i flash the drive in my gaming rig with windows 7 64bit i can get all to show up.
Well let me know that info and i can see if i can help you better. _________________________________________________________ The one the only Scarface!!
if you are using the new jungleflasher, chipset shouldn't matter.
Also I have used two different hp small form factors, never had a problem with them. But the VIA chipset is the most reliable one to use.
I've used the half tray for both modded and un-modded drives just for reliability and saving headaches
If you're spanish, or have a spanish friend, ask them what the short form of hp stands for ... It fits your feelings exactly
