Microsoft has announced an agreement to acquire Skype for $8.5 billion. Skype will support Microsoft devices like Xbox and Kinect, Windows Phone and a wide array of Windows devices, and Microsoft will connect Skype users with Lync, Outlook, Xbox Live and other communities.

I have never used Skype but I think with the buy out from Microsoft can only lead to bad things on the non xbox way,they will most likely charge for services now that were free,I assume! But on the Xbox side might be pretty cool to video chat through kinect.

I love Skype and I hope that once per all they upgrade the version for Win Mobile users.

As long as I can still IM and call people for free, it won't bother me. However, if I have to start paying just to call others with a mic I'm going to be angry. Then I'll have to start using Mumble I guess Confused

Its funny I did a story for this for PC-Hq when it was just talk and Skype said there was no chance they were selling and looky here they sold
